3- Sausages

Sausages, except for the lean deli turkey, are not a good choice for people with hypercholesterolemia. They contain a lot of fat (the majority saturated) and salt, so, it must be very sporadically consumed and always look for healthier and less fat varieties.

4- Processed foods

Croquettes, dumplings, frozen pizza … most precooked products carry an excess of salt and are made with trans fats that seriously harm the cholesterol control. All these dishes can be prepared at home, which is more recommended for persons suffering from hypercholesterolemia.

5- Microwave popcorn

Microwave popcorn is rich in salt and trans fats, so they should not enter into the menu of a person with high cholesterol. In fact, it is one of the 20 products that are not recommended for children. A healthier alternative is to buy the maize grain and make popcorn in a pan with a little olive oil.
